Terri is a native Californian. She started tap dancing when she was...well, let me put it this way, when she took her first step, her mother called her dad at work and he took the rest of the day off to teach her the shuffle step.
She came to New York as a dancer. Since then, Terri has been in several Broadway shows, including Barnum, Ain’t Misbehavin’, Bubbling Brown Sugar, and Two Gentlemen of Verona, among others. Off-Broadway has included The Club (for which she received an Obie Award), during which Charles Nelson Reilly (Uncle Charlie) introduced her to Mabel Mercer (who is her major inspiration in her style of singing). Also Off-Broadway: Juba, Nunsense I & II (Terri was approached by the Notre Dame order with an invitation to join), and Jungle Book.
She can also be seen on video in Nunsense I & II with Rue McClanahan, Liza Live at Radio City Music Hall with Liza Minnelli (for the longest time people on the streets would yell, “pity you can’t sing, Terri!”--that was something that Liza said on stage to her), and Boys on the Side with Whoopi Goldberg.
Terri has performed with Peter Nero and the Philly Pops, The Long Island Philharmonic, Atlantic City at Ceasar’s Palace, Anything Cole at Carnegie Hall, and as soloist with the Cleveland Ballet “In Studio D”.
She can be heard on “Incurably Romantic,” and the cast albums of Barnum, Liza Live! and Forbidden Broadway's 20th Anniversary Edition (“Screamgirls”).
The new millenium saw the release of Terri's first solo CD, produced by Old Hat Productions, “The Lady's Got To Sing”.

Working with Tommy Tune in The Club, Terri also added to her directing credits. Tommy passed the directing hat over to Terri when theaters around the country started calling to have the play produced outside of New York. It was performed in Boston at the Charles Playhouse, followed by the Cleveland Playhouse and the American Theatre in Richmond, Virginia. Terri's history with Tune dates back to the 70s, when she was his right-hand man during productions of Platinum, Ichabod (his one-man show), and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.
Terri also directed It's Only a Play at the Grove Street Playhouse, and was a guest director at La Mama. She also received a 1999 Bistro Award, MAC Award, and InTheater Award for directing the revue Our Life and Times.
